Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)

This unique and vibrant programme prepares you for the commercial dance sector. The emphasis is on technical skills and performance experience. [Offered by Whitireia New Zealand Limited]      LEVEL 6

Programme Overview

This commercial dance programme equips students with a high level of technical, artistic and interpretative skill in dance and provides the opportunity for practical performing experience. Students will also study dance history, anatomy and gain the skills to become a self-employed artist.

In each of the two years of study students perform in a production which showcases the breadth of dance styles they have mastered on the course.

Classes are delivered between 8.45am and 3pm daily at the dynamic Whitireia Performance Centre in Vivian St, Wellington. Students have the opportunity to collaborate with students who are studying a variety of performing arts programmes, including circus.
