Diploma in Stage and Screen Arts

If you're interested in performing in theatre, television or film, this course will help you gain the skills required, including acting and movement. This intense, high-energy course requires dedication and commitment. LEVEL 6

Programme Overview

    Level 6 pr​ogramme
      W​hitireia offers a two year Diploma and a one year Advanced Diploma programme. This programme introduces and develops skills, knowledge and attitude of professional standard to enable students to seek work in theatre, television and film.
        Through industry secondment opportunities and self-generated performance projects, students make a transition into working in the stage and screen professions.
          On successful completion, students may apply to enrol in year three of the Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts) and create a body of work in their discipline.

          Campus Starts on Duration
          Wellington City 2017: 13 February Two years, full-time

          Domestic Fees: $6,100 (per year)

          International Fees: $19,950 NZD (per year)


          Entry Requirements

          Domestic students

          NCEA Level 2 or equivalent plus evidence of skills/ability/aptitude based on interview and

          International students

          Proven equivalence to domestic entry requirements and IELTS 6.5 (no band lower than 6.0)

          Career Opportunities:

          Graduates have gone on to professional performance work in theatres in New Zealand and overseas, some have created their own work both for touring programmes and within established performance venues. A number have performed in major television and film projects. Graduates can go on to pursue further professional training in related fields.
