PPSEAWA NZ Scholarship​

Pan Pacific and South-East Asia Women’s Association (PPSEAWA) is an international organisation that was established in 1928, with PPSEAWA NZ active since 1931.​ PPSEAWA NZ Wellington Area Group is establishing a scholarship for women who carry out their tertiary level study in the Wellington area. Education empowers women and will allow them more choices in their life.

This scholarship was launched at the PPSEAWA fundraising mid-winter dinner on 18 June 2016 at The Pines in Houghton Bay, Wellington, and the first scholarship was awarded in 2017.

To be eligible for the scholarship you must:

  • be a woman over 20
  • be a New Zealand citizen (or hold a Resident class Visa)
  • have been residing in New Zealand for more than two continuous years and have not left the country for more than three months/year
  • be residing in the Wellington area; this includes Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata, Wellington suburbs, Porirua, Tawa, and as far as but not including Kāpiti
  • be enrolled in New Zealand for a full time tertiary level qualification at a Polytech or University in the Wellington area
  • have not received a PPSEAWA NZ Scholarship in the past
