The Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts) is a three year programme that provides a strong base in Māori, Samoa, Cook Islands and New Zealand contemporary dance performance. Students are encouraged to develop their own strengths in technique, performance and choreography.

In the third year, students research and create a major body of work that is presented publicly. Performance and touring internationally are significant parts of the Performing Arts programme. Students must successfully pass all modules to graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts). Students who pass two years of the degree may exit with a Diploma in Performing Arts.
