Programme Overview

This programme assists students in gaining the necessary driving licence, together with the knowledge and skills, to work safely as a road transport operator.

The programme comprises unit standards from the National Certificate in Commercial Road Transport (Goods Service).

  • Communication skills
  • Manual handling
  • Theory and practical driving tests
  • Law and practice
  • Class 2 licence
  • Forklift 'F' endorsement
  • Dangerous goods 'D' endorsement 

The opportunity to obtain a Class 4 licence is available for those who already hold Class 2, or Class 5 for those who already hold Class 4.

Class times are Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 3.00pm, and follow the primary school holidays.


Entry Requirements

Full New Zealand Driver Licence class 1 for at least six months and have experience in a manual gearbox vehicle; ability to obtain a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) medical certificate.
