Business Development Consultant, Computer Power Plus

Computer Power Plus is a provider of IT education. It is owned and operated by Whitireia New Zealand Limited and Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) two highly regarded institutes of technology and polytechnics. We have Campuses in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

We are looking for an individual with sales, recruitment, and marketing skills and experience (3 years +) who also cares about people and truly, values education and helping others succeed. In this role, you will spend your days meeting with potential students and advising them about our programmes of study. You will also provide support to our graduates by sending their CVs to employers who regularly employ our graduates.

We have established relationships and connections within Wellington's IT industry so you will be taking over a warm desk and following established processes. This is mostly a coordination/administration role but there are relationship management elements. You will have support from a business development manager who will be tasked with establishing new relationships as and when required. You will, however, need to maintain relationships with our established contacts, and may be required to assist at external events. Additional support will also be provided to you by an administrative assistant/reception. You will spend a lot of time with potential students and graduates – so a love of people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to be politely assertive will be crucial to your success in this role.

As Computer Power Plus continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent - Full Time IT Tutor to join our Wellington Campus. As a tutor you will be responsible for providing training and support to students to enable them to complete their course requirements and achieve their qualifications. You will provide one on one support to students as part of delivery of curriculum content, facilitate workshops to learners, student mentoring and guidance to ensure student engagement is maintained, and carry out administration for students' learning.

Minor Works and Projects Team Leader

W² Shared Services Ltd is a jointly owned entity between the Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) and Whitireia Community Polytechnic (Whitireia). W² Shared Services provides a comprehensive range of Procurement, ICT and Campus Services related services to all Clients, customers and stakeholders.

We are looking for a full time, permanent Minor Works and Projects Team Leader who has proven working experiences in a similar role, to lead our maintenance team in the provision of reactive and planned maintenance, minor works and projects for our clients.

Working closely with the Manager – Property, Facilities and Maintenance, this position will have accountabilities across our diverse Wellington sites and occasional support to our other campuses. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • proven experiences as a manager of minor works, projects, maintenance or property/facilities management
  • proven experiences in managing a team
  • proven experiences and knowledge of contract management practices
  • proven experiences using project management planning tools
  • proven experiences with budgeting, forecasting and business analysis
  • strong analytical and problem-solving ability, particularly when dealing with complex issues.
  • strong degree of communication skills in all forms with considerate negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills
  • strong understanding and application towards Health and Safety regulations and requirements
  • strong understanding and application of all local body or government legislation, codes and standards
  • be well organised with a strong ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks
  • First Aid certificate
  • full driver's license

Desirable skills and experiences:

  • vendor and procurement management
  • asset management data base and systems
  • experience and knowledge of building management and security systems (BMS)

There is a lot of interaction with people, so you will want and have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships and provide excellent customer service. You must also be prepared to take all practical steps to create and maintain a culturally sensitive environment for our Clients, customers and team members.

Senior Human Resources Advisor - Auckland

Whitireia Community Polytechnic (Whitireia) and Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) formed a strategic partnership in 2012 with the objective of providing the best quality, relevant learning experience that we can for our students. Our staff in Auckland are also culturally diverse to best support our international students. We offer courses in English, business, hospitality, teaching and computing. Along with our Auckland campus, Whitireia and WelTec have a number of campuses in and around the Wellington region.

The Senior HR Advisor is responsible for delivering a first class operational HR service to managers and staff based at our Auckland campus. Key areas of support include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, and policy advice. Coaching and mentoring managers is an important part of this role.

Reporting to the People Services Manager in Wellington, you will have the support of the People Services team ensuring alignment across the institutions. You will be required to set up and implement HR initiatives at the campus, and travel to Wellington on an ad-hoc basis for training and team meetings.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • experience in a Senior HR Advisory role OR extensive experience in a HR Advisory role ready for the next step in your career
  • sound knowledge of employee relations and NZ employment legislation
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide variety of people at all levels of an organisation
  • initiative and self-management
  • the ability to be adaptable in a changing environment, well-organised and able to multi-task
  • a tertiary degree qualification in Human Resources and experience in the tertiary education sector is preferred but not essential

Are you passionate about influencing the education of New Zealand’s future generation of addictions practitioners? If this sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity and would like to hear from you.

The School of Social Services, is seeking to employ one part time (0.5 FTE) addictions tutor to join our degree teaching team on our journey to becoming Aotearoa’s leading education provider.

This position is based in Wellington but working from other Whitireia and WelTec campuses may be required.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have a minimum two years clinical experience in addictions, specialist knowledge of a range of relevant theories, and registration to a professional organisation. Your application will be strengthened by a post-graduate qualification in addictions and an adult teaching qualification (level 5 minimum), or the willingness to work towards them. Experience in international pastoral care is also desirable but not necessary.

The appointee will be required to work within an established team, have the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, knowledge of, and ability to apply concepts to tikanga Māori, and be actively engaged in research.
