Education Team Leader, Computer Power Plus

Computer Power Plus are seeking an Education Team Leader at the Christchurch Campus to lead and motivate a small instructing team to deliver high quality student-centred education.

 You must be passionate about delivering excellence in IT education and will have a professional attitude and team focus.  Your own blend of leadership skills, qualifications and experience will be supported by the following: 

  • Sound leadership skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in conflict resolution
  • An ability to view a situation from the learners point of view
  • A relevant tertiary IT qualification 

Relevant industry certifications and experience working in an educational environment are desirable.

About the position

As Computer Power Plus continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term, full time IT Curriculum Developer to join our Curriculum Development Team in Wellington. As a Curriculum Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality curriculum products for Computer Power Plus. Curriculum products include: Courseware, assessments, assessment schedules, marking guides and model answers.  Essential

 Vocational qualifications in Information Technology

Technical Skills

  • Hardware knowledge - relevant to CompTIA A+
  • Operating System knowledge – Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016 (MCSA), Linux (e.g. RHSE)
  • Networking knowledge – relevant to CompTIA Network+, and CCNA (R&S, Security, Collaboration, Wireless)
  • Familiar with e-mail systems, Microsoft System Center, virtualisation (e.g. Hyper-V, KVM Hypervisor, Containers), and cloud technologies (e.g. Azure)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  •  Ability to view courseware from a student point of view
  •  Ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to new technologies
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to work independently as well as within groups

Desirable

  • Experience in creating courseware content, activities and assessments
  • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
